The Pointy Theory

All sorts of rumours are circulating at the moment as to which lucky lady is the current (and probably brief) object of Jake Gyllenhaal's affections.
He has been seen out on a few occasions with Rashida Jones, doing nothing more incriminating than eating lunch, but the sharing of food must obviously mean, to the media at least, wedding bells are not far away.

He's also been seen getting a little up close and cuddly with Anna Kendrick, star of Twilight, Up in the Air, and Jakes co-star in the upcoming End of Watch. She's gushed about him quite publicly, does this mean their relationship is more than just professional?

I haven't the foggiest who he's dating at the moment, but I have started to wonder about all of his possible conquests, past and present. They're all very pointy. Nothing against them personally, i'm sure they're lovely, but they are share this characteristic. The two mentioned above, quite pointy.

Reese Witherspoon, his long term love, definitely pointy.

The thankfully shortlived Taylor Swift affair, pointy.

The lovely Natalie Portman, a little pointy.

The only one who isn't really, is Jenny Lewis, who is still my favourite of all and i'm glad they're still friends if nothing else.

I'm trying to dredge my memory for all the others who were real or possible Gyllenhaal girlfriends...oh yes, how could I forget, Kirsten Dunst. Well, I probably forgot because I do my best to block her out of my mind.

Before I start getting too mean, and I don't mean to be, to any of them, well, except Kirsten, i'm going to stop here, and start trying to guess who will be next in the pointy parade...Carey Mulligan perhaps? Oh wait, that's already been rumoured...who is your guess?

I Approve!

For once, a rumoured Hollywood romance I can really get excited about, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock!

I love Sandra and have done ever since she played the cute girl next door who's surprisingly good at driving a bus in Speed. After the disastrous end of her last relationship with love rat and all round massive idiot Jesse James, I think it's about time she found someone who would treat her well. Hopefully, that person is The Change Up star, Reynolds.

The pair have been friends for years, co-starred in the Proposal, spent New Years together and have been spotted out quite frequently of late. Tongues really started wagging however, when Sandra appeared on the red carpet with Ryan at the premiere of his new film. Reynolds divorce from Scarlett Johansson came through recently too, so they are both officially available.

If they are just friends, great, or if they're more, as a recent hike in Wyoming with Ryan playing dad to Sandra's son Louis seemed to suggest, then even better!

Buckley Biopic Finds A Star

The second of two planned Jeff Buckley biopics has found their leading man, and thankfully for me (but probably leaving many teenage girls weeping into their Twilight pillowcases) it isn't Robert Pattinson.
My reason for not wanting him to do it isn't purely because I think he's a bit wet and full of himself, although that is a big part of it. I also, more importantly, don't think he looks anything like the Grace singer.
Last I knew that had a big part to play in whether you got to play someone or not. If it doesn't, then it should in my opinion.

Anyway, moving on from every deluded tweens crush, to the actor who did get the role, relative unknown but quite beautiful Reeve Carney, who does bear quite a resemblance to Buckley, even the musician's own mother, who is executive producer of the film, thinks so. Carney, who has been starring as Spiderman on Broadway and is a musician in his own right, fronting band Carney seems the perfect person for the role, I for one can't wait to see how the film turns out.

And My New Favourite Celeb Couple Is...

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.

I blogged about their relationship rumours a few weeks ago, and it seems now things are official between the Wanderlust stars. Jennifer is obviously a fan of the beard in a big way, being spotted wearing a matching gold ring to the one Theroux sports, on her wedding finger of all places.

to name but a few. I refuse to add John Mayer to that list, because I think he was neither gorgeous nor a catch. I'm hoping however that Mr Theroux is different. His cousin is the ever lovely and entertaining Louis Theoux, so that is hopefully a good indication of a promising personality.

Jack White and Karen Elson Split...and Throw a Party.

Former White Stripes frontman and model Karen Elson have called time on their six year marriage by throwing a joint anniversary and divorce party.
In an invite sent out to close friends, the couple stated that they are still close friends and want to celebrate the time they spent together as well as a future spent seperately and together as they raise their two children Scarlett and Henry Lee.
The party was held in Nashville last Friday to reaffirm their friendship and celebrate the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage.

Being one of the coolest celebrity couples around, in my opinion, it's a pity they've decided to go their seperate ways, but they really couldn't have done it in a friendlier or more awesome way, definitely preferred to the usual celebrity break up slagging matches.

He's Back on the Market Ladies

The man who can't be tamed, Mr George Clooney is single again. After two years together, Clooney, star of upcoming film Ides of March and model Elisabetta Canalis have split. In a statement sent to America's Entertainment tonight, the pair confirmed the split, stating that it was a very difficult and very personal time.

In an interview recently with italian magazine Chi, Canalis claimed that she would be the one to finally tie the notorious bachelor down, also saying that she laughed off comments from jealous rivals claiming Clooney didn't want to be with her.

It may have been these comments that marked the beginning of the end. Their relationship was rumoured to be rocky a few months ago when Clooney was called to testify in a trial against Italian PM Berlusconi. It was claimed that the couple had attended Berlusconi's parties, at which he has been accused of paying for sex with an underage girl. Clooney completely denied the claims that he had attended. Canalis had previous links to the PM, having appeared on his television network.

Whatever the reasons, it seems there may be truth to the theory that this bachelor will never be tied down. Or is there? I'm sure there will be many joining the queue in the hopes of finding out!

The More Exciting of the Royal Weddings

No, it's not Harry and Pippa, I'm bored of her and think Kate's nicer anyway (she is the one that scored the prince after all). I'm talking about the wedding coming up in July, Zara Phillips and her rugby player beau, Mike Tindall.
Everyone has already started trying to compare it to the fairytale event that was Kate and Wills, but I don't really think you can. It's not at Westminster Abbey, but rather at The Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. The groom is a sportsman, not heir to the Crown. The engagement ring, while beautiful, and preferable, in my eyes, is not quite the rock that's sported by Kate.

Never having been one to conform to Royal norms, I doubt Zara's going to start now. Being a typical girl, the dress is what I'm most looking forward to seeing. I doubt it'll be anywhere near the scale of the Duchess, and I don't think it'd suit her anyway, but I'm sure it'll be great. As much criticism as Miss Phillips gets for some of her outfits she really can do it all and without caring much what anyone thinks either.

Turning Heads....For all the Wrong Reasons

Kate and Wills met with President Obama and his wife Michelle yesterday after returning from their honeymoon in the Seychelles. Far from letting herself go now that she's bagged her Prince, Kate seems to be looking thinner than ever.

It may have just been the lights, the camera angles, the Seychelles tan or a very flattering dress (a Reiss dress in fact, which sold out within hours of The Duchess being seen in it) but whatever it is, I hope Kate's back to her old self soon. She used to have an enviable and amazing figure, lets hope the pressure of being in the spotlight doesn't turn her into something akin to one of those Hollywood lollipops.

Come Over to the Beard Side Jen

Rumour has it that my favourite Friend is dating Your Highness star Justin Theroux. The two have just wrapped filming on upcoming feature Wanderlust, and have apparently been close for months.

They were recently seen out together at the Sunset Tower Hotel in L.A, but that isn't the first time they've been spotted looking cosy.

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, I fully support Miss Aniston's new relationship, if it is one at all. She's flirted with the beard before, Brad Pitt, Jake Gyllenhaal and Gerard Butler have all had slight beardage, but none have been quite as impressive as the one Justin is sporting at the moment.

I remember reading somewhere that men with beards are seen as more reliable, so lets hope this is true in her case.

Oh Courtney

It's been difficult not to notice Cannes has been in full swing, with gorgeous stars in amazing outfits everywhere you look. Angelina stunned as always (she even outshines Brad this time, which is hard in my eyes!)

And Uma Thurman looked absolutely amazing in her body hugging electric blue number

One star who didn't fare so well in the fashion stakes was Courtney Love. Most of her outfits left little to the imagination, like this one

Oh and this one, which I must admit, I don't think is all that bad.

Despite being panned by the press, I still love Miss Love, completely mad and with more balls than most men, she wears what she likes and doesn't care. You're a legend Courtney, and long may it continue.

Just How Will He Come Back From This?

I must admit, I was saddened and quite shocked to hear the recent announcement that Maria Shriver and The Schwarzenegger himself had split after 25 years of marriage. Seen by many in Hollywood as having the ideal marriage, what could have brought the split on after so long, I wondered?

And then the news of the illegitimate child fathered by the Terminator star. Of course, being in politics, a scandal of some sort shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, except, apparently to his spouse. Arnold broke the news on Monday, saying he had told his wife a decade after fathering the child with a memeber of the house staff, who retired in January after 20 years of service. With news like that, and knowing that her husband had kept it a secret for that amount of time, it's no wonder Shriver decided to pack her bags. Never an easy decision I'm sure, but as a member of the Kennedy family, I imagine she won't put up with much.

All that's left to ponder after that news, is how many other skeletons does the Kindergarten Cop have in his closet?

The News That's Everywhere - Kate and Wills

And it's done, 5 short months after the announcement of their engagement, Kate and William are married. I know there were mixed emotions about it, some people cared, some people didn't, others just moaned about the money spent on it.
I love a good wedding, and what could be better than a Royal one? And it didn't disappoint. The Abbey looked amazing, William looked so smart on his arrival with Harry, who was my favourite of the day, especially when he nearly cracked up during the ceremony.

Almost more exciting than the actual wedding ceremony, is the arrival of the guests and the family, mostly to see what and who everyone is wearing. Queen Elizabeth looked eye catching as ever in bright sunshine yellow, the bride's mother was very simple, very understated, but beautiful in pale blue, and Camilla was stylish in champagne.

On a celeb note, Victoria Beckham was the one I wanted to see, and she looked as stylish as always, in amazing 6 inch Laboutins.

Other notable guests included Elton John and his partner David Furnish, Ben Fogle, long time friend of the groom, Joss Stone, who performed at the Diana memorial concert, as well as socialite and Royal friend, Tara Palmer Tomkinson

Kate's sister Pippa, who was also her maid of honour, looked beautiful in a white dress also designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who, it was finally revealed as Kate emerged from her car at Westminster Abbey, had designed the bridal gown. The back of Pippa's dress was the prettiest part, with little buttons all the way down the spine.

All of this paled into insignificance as soon as the future Princess arrived though. I know some people weren't fans of the dress, but I think on the whole, it's agreed that she made a fantastic choice.

So beautiful, so classic, and it flattered her slim figure perfectly, she couldn't have looked better. William obviously thought the same, mouthing 'You look beautiful' to her at the altar.

Almost stealing the show from the balcony kiss, was the tiny little grumpy flowergirl, how amazing is she? So cute.
My second favourite part of the whole day? The couple leaving the Palace in Prince Charles' old Aston Martin, Wills driving them, complete with balloon, a Just Wed licence plate, and a Learner sign on the front. I can't help it, I love them.
Whatever anyone else's view was of today, I for one loved it. It was everything a royal fairytale wedding should be and seemed so much more genuine than Charles and Diana's 30 years ago. There's no doubt that Catherine and William are completely in love, and long may it last.

One Step Closer To Global Domination

They're at it again, or so the Hollywood gossip mills would have us believe.
Apparently Brad and Angelina are planning on adding to their ever growing brood yet again, this time, with a little girl from Mexico.
Rumours started when Angelina recently added a seventh line to her tattoo that shows all the coordinates of her children's birthplaces. After visiting orphanages in Peru and Mexico, the couple settled on the girl in Mexico, who was born last year.

It has been said that they will introduce their newest addition at the Cannes Film Festival next month.
Brad and Angelina have definitely worked on building their family since they got together 6 years ago, and have 6 children so far: Maddox, from Cambodia; Zahara, from Ethiopia, Vietnamese born Pax, and biological children Shiloh, Knox and Viviene.

Kimberly Stewart's Expecting...

And the father is none other than the Wolfman himself, Benicio Del Toro.

I'm not sure why I find their pairing so odd, in fact their entire relationship passed by without me even noticing. If there even was one, were they properly together or was it a ships passing in the night sort of thing?

Either way, although they're no longer together, Benicio has said he will be supportive and play an active role in the child's life. Glad to hear it, as so many men would not do the same thing. I won't mention any names of course, but let's just say Stewart was lucky it's Del Toro, rather than one of her ex's.

This is the first child for both Kimberly and Benicio, and will be the first grandchild for Rod Stewart, who welcomed his eighth child into the world earlier this year.
